How Mora works with Facebook Login
Mora shows a business which of its Facebook and Instagram ads bring real customers. It records which ad started each Messenger conversation, and the business's staff mark when that person booked, arrived and paid.
This page explains, in plain language, how Mora connects to Facebook, which permissions it asks for and why.
Connecting your accounts, step by step
- In Mora, you click "Connect with Facebook".
- Facebook shows its permission dialog. It lists everything Mora asks for.
- You choose which Pages and ad accounts you want to share with Mora.
- Mora shows the Page you connected (its name and picture) and asks you to confirm the Page to track.
- Mora subscribes that Page to webhooks, so Mora is notified when a new Messenger conversation starts.
- When a conversation starts from an ad, Mora stores which ad started it.
- Your staff mark each conversation as Booked, Arrived and Paid (with the amount).
- The dashboard shows the results for each ad: spend, conversations, bookings, arrivals and revenue.
Permissions we request
Mora requests only these permissions. Each one has a single, specific use.
| Permission | Why Mora needs it | Where you see it in Mora |
|---|---|---|
pages_show_list | To show the Pages you manage, so you can choose which Page to connect. | The Page picker during setup. |
pages_manage_metadata | To subscribe the connected Page to webhooks, so Mora is notified when a new Messenger conversation starts. | The connection status of the Page in Settings. There is no visible content; this is a background notification. |
pages_messaging | To receive the conversation referral data for the connected Page, that is, which ad started the conversation. | Each conversation in the Mora conversation list, labelled with the ad that started it. |
pages_read_engagement | To read basic Page information (name and picture) so Mora can display the connected Page. | The Page name and picture in the header and in Settings. |
ads_read | To read your business's own ad names and spend, so Mora can show results for each ad. | The ad name and spend columns on the dashboard. |
business_management | To access the ad accounts and Pages owned by your business portfolio. Mora uses it only when those assets are in a business portfolio. | The ad account and Page picker during setup, when your assets belong to a business portfolio. |
